FOPRO - Fountain Projects and Research Office

Fountain Projects and Research Office (FOPRO) is a division established in March 2019 by Fountain Health Care (FHC) Limited that is dedicated to the development and execution of healthcare projects, health-related research and the provision of relevant healthcare training in form of short courses and consulting services in Kenya and the whole East and Central Africa region. FOPRO houses a clinical research centre that designs and conducts internationally benchmarked observational and interventional studies and is staffed by a group of investigators who are internationally renowned in their fields of specialization to lead the various research agenda within their portfolio.

FOPRO works with a number of partners, notably grant organizations, pharmaceutical industries and biotechnology organizations, contract research organizations (CROs) and site management organizations (SMOs) to conduct both
investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies with strict compliance to Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Human Subjects Protection (HSP) guidelines as espoused in our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). One of these fruitful partnerships is our collaboration with Anchor Clinical Trials Network, an affiliate company of the globally renowned Medinova Quality Research sites to conduct high-quality clinical trials in different disease portfolios on behalf of various sponsoring organizations at our clinical research centre. In addition, FOPRO researchers and affiliated clinicians participate in initiating and conducting mission-oriented healthcare research and consultancy services, looking into various aspects of healthcare including, but are not limited to aging, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases (diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, chronic pulmonary diseases,
and mental disorders), maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), surgical conditions, eye health, public health, health economics, health services management (HSM), as well as health policy.
